Bundesanzeiger (Federal Gazette)

Official federal publication portal. Contains annual accounts of all corporations subject to disclosure.

The Bundesanzeiger (bundesanzeiger.de) is Germany's official electronic publication organ. Central for insolvency research: all corporations subject to disclosure (GmbH, AG, UG) must publish their annual accounts there.

From the last annual report you can read revenue, EBIT, balance-sheet total, headcount and, where applicable, going-concern warnings. The only reliable public source for financial metrics of the target.

Time lag: annual reports are typically available 6–15 months after balance-sheet date. On insolvent companies, often the last pre-crisis report — showing how the business last looked „normal”.
