1. What Deal One is — and isn't
Deal One (deal-one.de) is a cross-industry DACH marketplace for buying and selling businesses: trades/crafts, medical practices, pharmacies, restaurants, construction and dozens more categories. Insolvencies are one category among many there (/suchergebnisse/unternehmen-kaufen/insolvenzen/), not the product's core.
The mechanism: buyers set up a search profile, an AI assistant continuously scans new listings and emails matching hits ("AI deal alerts", hourly, daily or weekly). That's a solid model for broad, occasional business search — but a listing is not an official record, and its freshness depends on when a seller or broker posts it.
Emptera does the opposite: only insolvency proceedings (amtliche Insolvenzveröffentlichungen InsO announcements, self-administration, owner-led sale signals), sourced directly from official records rather than seller listings.
2. Price comparison (as of 11 September 2026, checked live)
All Deal One prices below come directly from deal-one.de/abonnement-auswaehlen/, net plus 19% German VAT — prices can change, check their page directly if in doubt:
Deal One — Einsteiger (entry): €39/month (seller contacts up to €1M revenue, 1 search profile, no CSV export; company insolvencies are not listed as included). Professional: €59/month (up to €5M revenue, 3 search profiles, German company insolvencies up to €5M included). Profi Investor: €119/month (insolvencies with no revenue cap, 10 search profiles, CSV/Excel export, AI deal briefing, dedicated contact). Commitments of 3, 6 or 12 months lower the effective monthly rate (e.g. Professional €38.25/month at 12 months, Profi Investor €77.42/month).
Emptera — Free: €0. Pro: €180/month or €1,800/year (full database access, AI matching against your acquisition thesis, 25 alerts). Platform: €360/month (team access, 100 alerts, full export). Enterprise: from €999/month, demo-led. Full detail at /preise.
To be candid: on pure entry price, Deal One's Profi Investor tier (€119/month, insolvencies with no revenue cap) is cheaper than our Pro entry (€180/month). If price is your only lens, that's worth acknowledging rather than glossing over — the next section is about what the difference buys.
3. What the price difference actually buys: marketplace breadth vs. insolvency depth
Deal One covers dozens of industries; insolvency is one filter among many. The product is built around saved search profiles and email alerts about new listings — per-case data depth stays at listing level.
Emptera syncs amtliche Insolvenzveröffentlichungen InsO announcements hourly directly against the official source (methodology at Why freshness matters) and enriches every case with commercial-register and veröffentlichte Jahresabschlüsse data instead of relying on a third-party-authored listing. From those facts, each case gets an AI deal playbook with concrete next steps for administrator outreach (see Deal Playbook explained) — not just a contact address.
This isn't a blanket "better" — it's a different shape: broad reach across many industries versus specialist depth in exactly one segment.
4. Which platform fits whom
Deal One fits well if you're searching across industries for a single business (a trades company or medical practice, say) and insolvency is only one of several criteria — the lower entry price is a genuine argument there.
Emptera fits well if you repeatedly and actively source asset deals out of insolvency proceedings specifically, and need register data, case history and a structured approach to administrator outreach rather than a plain listing feed. For that use case, the higher Pro price buys specialization, not the same output under a different label.
The two aren't mutually exclusive — some buyers reasonably run several sources in parallel.

On pure entry price, yes: Deal One's Profi Investor tier is €119/month (insolvencies with no revenue cap) versus our Pro entry at €180/month. The difference is in data depth and specialization, not the core "receive alerts" function.
